2016 MAIN sits at the threshold of Downtown Kansas City's historic Crossroads district. Recently renovated, it offers modern amenities in a beautiful gallery setting full of character and original architectural details. Different from many event spaces in the area, 2016 MAIN not only embraces, but actively fosters the creative energy that defines the Crossroads district, doubling as an art gallery. Furthermore, co-owner and seasoned Kansas City photographer Jodi Vander Woude runs her studio out of the space.
2016 MAIN plays host to any number and type of events from fundraisers and corporate meetings, dinners and holiday parties to more intimate rehearsal dinners, showers, weddings and receptions. Our open layout and warm features ensure each event is completely unique and inviting for all those celebrating.
Before settling in KC, Jodi Vander Woude worked for 16 years at Playboy Magazine, as an editor, producer, stylist and photographer. This experience kickstarted Jodi's career, which includes collaborations with several publications and fellow photographers. Her passion for creativity and travel has led her around the world, capturing different people, places and stories as she goes.

2016 MAIN first opened its bright orange doors over three years ago, within the revitalized KC Crossroads. The dual event space and art gallery epitomizes the rich character and soul of its Crossroads roots, while simultaneously achieving a level of elegance and refinement not often seen in the endearingly eclectic surrounding area. The venue can accommodate groups of up to 250, while rich details throughout warm the space, making it perfectly cozy for more intimate gatherings. It features ebony hardwood floors, marble accents, full caterer's kitchen and private bridal suite, among other wonderful details. The balance between vintage charm and modern luxury results in a stunning space in the heart of Kansas City.
2016 MAIN's central location in downtown KC and directly on the streetcar line makes it a convenient spot for hosting weekday business sessions, corporate parties and anything in between. Business partners enjoy Google Fiber Wifi access, along with the use of professional light and sound systems, projector, lounge furniture, tables and chairs. We team with nearby caterers to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner. Finally, what better way to wrap up a productive session than hosting a private happy hour at our full bar? We'll work with you to select the spirits that best suit your guests and send them home happy.
Since opening just three short years ago, 2016 MAIN has hosted nearly 200 weddings. The renovated space is an artful fusion of historic charm and modern functionality. Our open layout is able to accommodate a range of functions and wedding events, from rehearsal dinners and showers to ceremonies and receptions, even day-after brunches and sendoffs. The couple's and their guests' happiness and satisfaction are top priority. Planning and coordination are taken care of well in advance in order for you to enjoy your day. Recently, 2016 MAIN was named to The Knot's "2016 Best of Weddings."
